Port Dover~A Sleepy Little Lakeside Town

Today we had a glorious photoshoot in the sleepy little lakeside town of Port Dover, Ontario which is about 10 minutes from our place in Simcoe. Nestled along the coast of Lake Erie, it is a very well known tourist destination as well as popular commercial and recreational fishing spot. What Port Dover is also famous for is its Friday the 13th days where over 200 000 bikers descend on the town for the day.
It is also a great spot for shooting some of our newest vintage clothing for summer. These photos were shot at the East Pier where the commerical fishing boats are docked and where the latest Romero directed zombie movie was filmed! The other location is the Port Dover Harbour Museum! Enjoy!!

If I Could Dress Kate Middleton...

It's hard to believe almost a week has passed since the big "Wedding". Kate Middleton is the current 'it' girl and who can blame us for being so enamoured with her! Tall at 5'10, long gorgeous brown hair, slim figure and of course, married to a Prince that really loves her! For all those assets, I think she dresses kind of boring tat time with all those blue dresses with black jacket looks. The wedding dress was an exception of course. The wedding dress inspired vintage dreams of Grace Kelly with all her class and elegance. So how about it Kate, why not try on some vintage looks? Here are some of my picks for Kate and a sneak peek at this week's offerings from the Witchery Vintage!
For those casual weekend at the castle...a 1950s cotton lace trimmed rockabilly frock from the Walker Collection

Back to the Woods

The human spirit needs places where nature has not been rearranged by the hand of man.  ~Author Unknown

Just beyond my house on Chapel Hill, there lies a mini forest bounded by a stone wall. Crossing the street and taking the path into the forest takes one into a different world away from the sounds and rush of daily life. This is where some of our best vintage pictures have been taken. Recently some old trees came crashing down during a big wind storm. This majestic tree has become a wonderful plaything for the cats as well a the perfect setting for our new floral vintage offerings this week~
